146 Troubleshooting Your System

Run the appropriate online diagnostic test. See "Using the System Setup
Program" on page 41.

Remove power from the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect
the system from the electrical outlet.

Open the system. See "Removing the Top Cover" on page 60.

Ensure that each expansion card is firmly seated in its connector. See "PCI
Express Add-in Cards" on page 86.

Close the system. See "Installing the Top Cover" on page 60.

Reconnect the system to the electrical outlet, and turn on the system and
attached peripherals.
If the problem persists, go to the next step.

Remove power from the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect
the system from the electrical outlet.

Open the system. See "Removing the Top Cover" on page 60.

Remove all expansion cards installed in the system. See "PCI Express Add-
in Cards" on page 86.

Close the system. See "Installing the Top Cover" on page 60.

Reconnect the system to the electrical outlet, and turn on the system and
attached peripherals.

Run the appropriate online diagnostic test.
If the tests fail, see "Getting Help" on page 165.

For each expansion card you removed in step 9, perform the following
steps:
a
Remove power from the system and attached peripherals, and
disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.
b
Open the system. See "Removing the Top Cover" on page 60.
c
Reinstall one of the expansion cards.

Close the system. See "Installing the Top Cover" on page 60.
e
Run the appropriate diagnostic test.
