The Diagnose and Repair HDD utility doesn’t work.
The Optimize HDD utility doesn’t work.
The Format HDD utility doesn’t work.
• The HDD unit may not be properly installed in your PlayStation®2 console.
– Read the hardware installation guide for the internal hard disk drive (40GB) (for
PlayStation®2), and install the HDD unit properly.
Installation of the DVD Player software fails.
• The SCPH-10020 U memory card (8MB) (for PlayStation
®
2) may not be inserted
properly.
– Insert a memory card (8MB) (for PlayStation
®
2) into MEMORY CARD slot 1 on
the PlayStation
®
2 console front.
• There may not be enough free space on the memory card (8MB) (for
PlayStation
®
2).
– The memory card (8MB) (for PlayStation
®2) must have at least 2,200KB of free
space for the DVD Player software to be installed. Erase any unnecessary data
from the memory card (8MB) (for PlayStation®2).
The DVD video picture is blurred, or the screen has a greenish hue.
• The cable may not be connected properly to the PlayStation
®
2 console or TV.
– Check the PlayStation
®
2 console and TV connections.
• You may be watching a DVD video using an integrated TV/VCR.
– Depending on the TV (or VCR) system, the copy protection on some DVD videos
could affect the picture quality.
The PlayStation®2 console’s CD Player does not respond to the DVD
remote control (for PlayStation®2) (sold separately). (For users of
PlayStation
®2 console model numbers SCPH-50001, SCPH-50001/N or
SCPH-50010/N only)
• To allow for operation using the DVD remote control (for PlayStation
®
2), remove
the HDD from the console. Otherwise, use the analog controller
(DUALSHOCK
®
2) or contact our technical support line at 1-800-345-7669.
