contactyourorganization’slicenseadministratorforyourlicenseactivationcodes.
Ifyouneedtochangethelicenseadministratorforyourorder,contact
vi‐hotline@vmware.com.Includethe
relevantordernumbersinyouremail.
IfyoupurchasesVMwareInfrastructure 3fromanauthorizedVMwarereseller,
registeryourpurchaseusingthepartneractivationcode(s)suppliedbythepartnerto
generateyourlicensefiles.
Checking the License Server
Ifyouarehavingtroublecommunicatingwithyourlicenseserver,checkthefollowing:
CheckthatthelicenseserverWindowsserviceisrunning.
Checkthatlicenseserverislistening.
Checkthelicenseserverstatus.
To check that the license server Windows service is running
1Onthemachineonwhichthelicenseserverisinstalled,chooseStart>Control
Panel>AdministrativeTools>ServicestodisplaytheServicescontrolpanel.
2VerifythattheStatuscolumnfortheVMwareLicenseServerentryreadsStarted.
3IftheVMwareLicenseServerisnot
started,right‐clicktheserviceandchoose
Start.
