toanACpowersource:
1. Makesureallelectricalbreakersandswitchesareturnedoffbeforewiringmotor.
2. Makesurethatthewiringvoltageis230VAC.
3. Use#12AWGforwirerunsupto100feet(30m)and#10AWGforlengthslongerthan100feet
(30m).Whenindoubtuseaheaviergauge(largerdiameter)wire.Heaviergaugewillallowthe
motortoruncoolerandmoreefcient.
4. Makesureallelectricalconnectionsarecleanandtight.
5. Cutthewirestotheappropriatelengthsotheydonotoverlaportouchwhenconnected.
6. Permanentlygroundthemotorusingthegreen/yellowgroundwire,asshownbelow.Usethe
correctwiresizeandtypespeciedbyEUElectricalCodes.Makesurethegroundwireis
connectedtoanelectricalserviceground.
7. Bondthemotortothepoolstructureinaccordancewiththelocalregulatiosn.UseasolidNo.8
AWGorlargercopperconductor.Runawirefromtheexternalbondinglugtothepoolbonding
structure,asshownbelow.
NOTE: When the IntelliFlo
®
VS pump is started and stopped by removing power with a relay or timer,
a two-pole device should be used to apply and remove power to both of the red power leads.
TheIntelliFlo
®
isdesignedtobepermanentlyconnectedtoitspowersource.Typicallythepump
receivespowerdirectlyfromthecircuitbreaker.Nocontactorormotorstarterisrequired.IntelliFlo
®
canbeoperatedin“stand-alone”mode,startingandstoppingwhenpowerisappliedorremoved.
Whenthedrivepowersupitwillreturntothemodeandrunstatusthatitwasinwhenpowerwas
removed.Thissetupmaybeappropriateifyouneedtouseexistingrelaysortimers.
