Database Administration Installation Guide
Setting the ML_LANG Environment Variable
The ML_LANG environment variable sets the locale for the server. By
default, the locale is
en_US.iso88591 (English). To change this variable,
check the list of supported locales for your site (enter
patroldb locales at
the system prompt), and specify the new locale name.
Example
export ML_LANG=fr_FR.iso88591
Setting the ML_ROOT Environment Variable
The ML_ROOT environment variable specifies the fully qualified path to
the directory where the MLS language libraries are located. If this
variable is not specified, the default is the location pointed to by the
BMC_HOME environment variable (home directory).
Example
export ML_ROOT=/usr/bmc/PDBAdmin/sinix/3.0
Setting up the PATROL DB-Reorg Environment
The PATROL DB-Reorg
™
product, a member of the High Performance
Utilities product group, allows you to optimize space utilization and
improve performance of your database by maximizing the efficiency of
your reorganizations. Although this product is not part of the PATROL
Database Administration product group, PATROL DB-Reorg integrates
with PATROL DB-Change Manager by allowing you to build and submit
jobs through the Utility Manager. To set up PATROL DB-Reorg to
integrate properly with PATROL DB-Change Manager, you must specify
the directory path of the PATROL DB-Reorg executables in the server
owner’s PATH prior to starting the server.
Example
export PATH=$PATH:/HOME/bmc/DBReorg/v.r/osv
