If you need service or assistance,
we suggest you follow these five steps:
1. Before calling for assistance...
If nothing operates:
l
Is the power supply cord plugged into a live
circuit with the proper voltage? [See page 28.)
l
Have you checked your home’s main fuses or
circuit breaker box?
l
Have you checked the electric company for
a power failure?
If the oven will not run:
l
Is the oven being used as a timer?
l
If the temperature probe is being used, is it
plugged tightly into its socket?
l
Is the door firmly closed and latched?
l
Did you touch START?
l
Did you follow the directions exactly3
If the cooking times seem too long:
l
Is the electric supply to your home low or
lower than normal? Your electric company
can teil you if the line voltage is low.
l
Is the Cook Power at the recommended
setting?
l
Are you allowing for more time when micro-
wave cookrng more food at one time?
If the display shows a time counting down but
the oven is not cooking:
l
Is the oven door closed completely?
l
Is the oven tn a standing time between QUICK
DEFROST and a cooking cycle? (See page 13.)
l
Have you set the control as a kitchen timer?
If you do not hear a Programming Tone

l
Is the command correct?
l
Has the tone been cancelled?
If the fan seems to be running slower than
usual:
l
Has the oven been stored in a cold area? The
fan will run slower until the oven warms up to
normal room temperature
If smoke is coming from back of oven during
broiling:
l
This is normal, just as in conventional broiling.
If the fan keeps running after convection
cooking:
. It is normal for the fan to keep running after
convection cooking. The fan will even run
when the door is open. The fan will automati-
cally shutoff when the oven components have
cooled down.
If there has been a power interruption, the
Display will show 888:88. Reset the clock

If the oven turns off too soon or not soon
enough when using the probe:
* Is at least ‘13 of the probe in the food?
l
Is the probe tip in the center of the food?
l
Is the probe touching bone or fat?
l
Have you allowed roasts to stand for a few
minutes after cooking?
l
Is the probe plugged tightly into its socket?
. Is the Cook Power set correctly?
. Is the Probe Temperature set correctly?
If FAIL, FAIL 2, FAIL 3, or FAIL 4 shows in the
Display, call your Whirlpool COOL-LINE’ serv-
ice assistance telephone number.
