Camera ready light status
Camera/computer communications
If Try one or more of the following
Ready light does
not turn on and the
camera does not
work.
■ Turn on the camera (page 2).
■ Install new batteries (page 1) or charge rechargeable batteries. (See
the user documentation that accompanies your charger, dock, etc.)
■ Turn camera off, then back on.
Ready light blinks
green.
■ Camera is operating normally.
Ready light blinks
amber.
■ Wait. Resume picture taking when the light stops blinking and turns
green.
Ready light blinks
red and camera
turns off.
■ Install new batteries (page 1) or charge rechargeable batteries. (See
the user documentation that accompanies your charger, dock, etc.)
Ready light glows
steady red.
■ Transfer pictures to the computer (page 44), delete pictures from the
camera (page 15), switch image storage locations (page 30), or insert
a card with available memory (page 3).
■ Wait. Resume picture taking when the light turns off.
■ Change the image storage location to internal memory (page 30), or
use a different card.
Ready light is off or
glows steady
green.
■ Camera is operating normally.
If Try one or more of the following
Cannot transfer pictures.
(The Add New Hardware Wizard
cannot locate drivers.)
■ Disconnect USB cable. (If using camera dock or printer
dock, disconnect cable and remove camera from
dock). Close all open applications. Re-install the
software (page 43).
■ Disconnect the USB cable. Close all open applications.
Re-install the software (page 43).
