Install the expansion board:
8. Lock the PCI retaining clip.
9. Install the PCI riser cage (on page 25).
10. Connect any required internal or external cables to the expansion board. Refer to the documentation
that ships with the expansion board.
11. Install the access panel (on page 24).
PCI riser board option
To install the component:
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless
all PCI slots have either an expansion slot cover or an expansion board installed.
1. Power down the server (on page 22).
2. Extend the server from the rack (on page 22).
3. Remove the access panel (on page 23).
4. Remove the PCI riser cage (on page 24).
5. Remove any expansion boards.
