Pathwaysprovidesupplementalglidepath/glideslopeinformationonanactiveILS,LPV,LNAV/VNAV,and
someLNAVapproaches.Pathwaysareintendedasanaidtosituationalawarenessandshouldnotbeused
independentoftheCDI,VDI,glidepathindicator,andglideslopeindicator.Theyareremovedfromthe
displaywhentheselectednavigationinformationisnotavailable.Pathwaysarenotdisplayedbeyondthe
activelegwhenlegsequencingissuspendedandarenotdisplayedonanyportionoftheightplanlegthat
wouldleadtointerceptingaleginthewrongdirection.Pathwaysarealsoautomaticallyremovedfromthe

eachcornerthatpointinthedirectionoftheactivewaypoint.Pathwaysarenotdisplayedfortherstleg
oftheightplanifthatsegmentisaHeading-to-Altitudeleg.Therstsegmentdisplayingpathwaysisthe
rstactiveGPSlegoractivelegwithaGPSoverlay.IfthislegoftheightplanrouteisoutsidetheSVS
eldofview,pathwayswillnotbevisibleuntiltheaircrafthasturnedtowardthisleg.Whileapproaching
thecenteroftheactivelegandprescribedaltitude,thenumberofpathwayboxesdecreasestoaminimum
of four.
Climb proles cannotbe displayeddue to thevariables associatedwith aircraft performance. Flight
planlegsrequiringaclimbareindicatedbypathwaysdisplayedatalevelabovetheaircraftatthealtitude
selected or programmed.
