The Shooting Menu
Choose the size and quality at which still pictures
are recorded. Large pictures can be printed at
large sizes with no drop in quality; small pictures
require less memory, allowing more pictures to
be recorded.
Option
Prints at sizes up to
gF
31 × 23 cm/12 × 9 in. (g) or 31 × 21 cm/
12 × 8 in. (h). Choose gF for high-quality
prints, h for an aspect ratio of 3 : 2.

i 22 × 16 cm (8.5 × 6.5 in.)
j 17 × 13 cm (7 × 5 in.)
k 14 × 10 cm (5.3 × 4 in.)

5 × 4 cm (2 × 1.5 in.). Suited to e-mail or the
web.
The number of pictures that can be taken at cur-
rent settings (pg. 94) is displayed to the right of
the image quality icon in the monitor.
Aspect Ratio
Pictures taken at an image quality setting of h
have an aspect ratio of 3 : 2, the same as a frame of
35-mm fi lm. Pictures taken at other settings have an
aspect ratio of 4 : 3.

• At settings of i or higher, sensitivities over 1600
are set to 1600. Settings that have been altered from
the value selected by the user are shown in yellow.
• Image quality is not reset when the camera is turned
off or another shooting mode is selected.
